Hey everyone! I'm still here! I missed you all! :) It has been a busy month let me tell you!
May 17, 2010 I graduated from Buffalo State College with a degree in Arts and Humanities. Who Hoo! Class of 2010! I will be attending Medaille College in the fall to start pursing my Masters in the Elementary Education Program specializing in Early Childhood and Literacy. I'm so excited! Early on I can remember sitting on the back steps of my grandmothers house handing out homework to my younger cousins, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. The time has come :)
Dance Dance Dance...Recital time is here and I have been preparing my classes for their recital day, unfortunately I wont be attending their dress rehearsals because I will be in Albany for Pageant week but I'm preparing them to be confident and self sufficient. Yes!
Miss New York Preparation...workout sessions, talent practices and mock interviews have been flooding my schedule, I think of Alice and Wonderland and the bunny who says: No room no room no room! I have no room for sleep but it is worth it. "Anything good is not easy"
From my last post I had the opportunity to meet briefly with the Buffalo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. James Williams. I will meet with him tomorrow and propose ideas the Buffalo Public School District can use to incorporate the arts into education with the lack of arts funding. It can and will be done! The arts played a huge part in my development and everyone should be given the opportunity to experience it.
